2. How this website works
This website is informational. It has no contact forms: you can write to us by email or call us by telephone. The "Client Portal" screen is accessible by invitation only and does not send or store any personal data.
The site does not use cookies, analytics tools, tracking pixels or advertising. Fonts are hosted on the site itself, so your browser makes no calls to third-party services to load them. In other words, we do not use tracking technologies.
The company that hosts the site technically records visitors' IP addresses in its server logs, for security and service-operation purposes. We do not use that information to identify you or to build profiles.
3. Personal data we process
We process the data you send us when you write to or call us, and the professional contact details generated in the course of our operations:
- Name.
- Company and position.
- Email address and telephone number.
- Where needed to carry out a transaction: details of signatories and representatives of the parties (for example, name, position and authority).
We do not process sensitive personal data, or financial or asset-related data of individuals, through this website.
4. Purposes of processing
Primary purposes (necessary for our relationship with you):
- Handling your enquiries and requests.
- Preparing, negotiating and carrying out chartering, vessel sale and purchase, or maritime consultancy transactions.
- Maintaining the commercial relationship.
- Complying with legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Secondary purpose (requires your consent, which you may refuse):
- Sending you market information and company news.
If you do not want us to use your data for the secondary purpose, write to magnitude@magnitudebrokers.com saying so, at any time. Your refusal will not affect the handling of your enquiries or our commercial relationship. If you do not tell us otherwise, we will understand that you consent to that use, as permitted by the Law.
5. Transfers of personal data
We do not sell your personal data. We disclose it to third parties only in these cases:
- Where necessary to carry out the transactions you request: shipowners, charterers, surveyors, agents and advisers involved in the transaction.
- Where required by law or by a competent authority.
Any recipient of your data assumes the same obligations that we have under this notice. If you do not want us to transfer your data to the third parties in the first case, you may tell us at the email address above; in that event we may be unable to carry out the transaction you requested. Transfers required by law or by an authority do not require your consent.
6. ARCO rights and withdrawal of consent
You have the right to access your personal data and to know how we process it (Access); to request correction of data that is inaccurate or incomplete (Rectification); to request that we delete it from our records when you consider it is no longer required for the stated purposes (Cancellation); and to object to its processing for legitimate cause (Objection). These are the ARCO rights. You may also withdraw at any time the consent you have given us, without retroactive effect.
To exercise them, send your request to magnitude@magnitudebrokers.com including:
- Your name and an address or email for notifications.
- A copy of a document proving your identity or, where applicable, the capacity and identity of your representative.
- A clear and precise description of the data concerned (except for access requests) and of the right you wish to exercise.
- For rectification, the changes requested and supporting documents.
- Any other element that helps us locate your data.
We will tell you our decision within 20 days of receiving your request. If it is upheld, we will give effect to it within 15 days after that notice. These periods may be extended once for an equal period where circumstances justify it.
Exercising ARCO rights is free of charge. We may charge only the costs of reproduction, copies or delivery, as provided by the Law.
7. How to limit the use or disclosure of your data
In addition to the above, you may ask us at any time to stop sending you market information or company news, or to limit the use of your data, by writing to magnitude@magnitudebrokers.com. We will act on your request and confirm by the same means.
8. Security and retention
We maintain administrative, technical and physical security measures to protect your data against damage, loss, alteration, destruction, or unauthorised use, access or processing. We keep your data for as long as necessary for the purposes of this notice and to meet legal obligations; we then delete it, after a blocking period where applicable.
9. Changes to this notice
We may amend this notice because of legal changes, changes in our practices or in the services we offer. We will publish the current version on this page, with its last-updated date. If a change affects people who have already given us their data, we will notify them by email at the address they provided.
10. Competent authority
If you believe your right to the protection of personal data has been infringed, you may file a request for protection of rights with the Secretaría Anticorrupción y Buen Gobierno (Ministry of Anti-Corruption and Good Governance), which took over the data-protection functions of the now-dissolved National Institute for Transparency, Access to Information and Personal Data Protection (INAI). You are not required to do so before contacting us: we will gladly handle your request directly.
